ACUPUNCTURE FOR CHILDBIRTH

Acupuncture for Labour Pain and Labour Duration
Studies have shown that acupuncture analgesia is particularly useful for relieving childbirth labour pain and is also effective at reducing the duration of labour time. Furthermore, episiotomy and perineum suturing can also be conducted with acupuncture analgesia

Acupuncture for Weak Contractions
Acupuncture can also increase the activity of the uterus where mother's are experiencing weak uterine contractions.

Acupuncture is thus recommended as an alternative to drug treatment during labour. As drug therapy can be disadvantageous to newborns, it is often a preferred choice for those preferring a more holistic and safer treatment during childbirth.
